“The more that you read, the more things you will know.
The more that you learn, the more places you'll go.”

- Theodor S. "Dr. Seuss" Geisel, Dartmouth '25

What do Dr. Suess, Dr. James Naismith (The Inventor of Basketball),
and the REAL Hitch have in common?

They Are All SigEps!

SigEp is one of eight social fraternities at Marquette University and the only one without a pledging process. This allows SigEp to strech out our member education over ones college experience and at ones own pace. Our Membership Development Program complimented with our Award Winning Leadership Development Continum helps brothers complete their academic goals and graduate as better scholars, leaders, athletes, and gentlemen.

Starting with the Sigma Challenge, brothers learn skills to help them achieve more as students. These skills include goal-setting and time management along with an intro to the history of SigEp and fraternities overall. From there brothers move into the Phi Challenge where brothers are challenged not only to become leaders in SigEp but in other student organizations around campus. Brothers are also introduced to advanced ideas of gentlemanly behavior including attending an ediquette dinner. The Epsilon Challenge helps brothers for life after Marquette with examining resume building, interviewing tips, and being introducted to the expansive SigEp network of alumni in almost every career field imaginable! The last Challenge is the Brother Mentor challenge that invites brothers not only to serve the community in a more profound way, but also to help guide the leaders in SigEp.

Since being reconstructed in 2006, the Wisconsin Zeta Chapter has continuely had high, if not the highest gpa of all fraternities at Marquette. Many of our members are not only involved in student organizations, but are active leaders in orientaion staff, hall councils, service organizations, and as Resident Assistants. We are consistently recognized as leaders on campus, and in the community.

SigEp asks its members to be virtuious in our actions and diligent in our studies, for Virtue and Diligence are teo of our cardinal principals. The third principal is brotherly love. All fraternities have a sense of "brotherhood" but SigEp was the first to stress Brotherly Love as one of our core values. Your brothers are like your family on campus, with a diverse group of brothers, we have brothers with the same major as you to help you in your major studies, and many more brothers with other majors to help you achieve in the core classes. The best way to learn about SigEp, is to expirence SigEp! Visit our rush events or other events held during the year and talk with our brothers.

SigEp is about a Balance life. Work, properly balanced with fun, can help one achieve the ultimate collegiate expirence.
